Yes, we have taken all of our garments through airport security many times. However, you do have to follow the FAA guidelines for lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries which states that:
"Spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries must be carried in carry-on baggage only. When a carry-on bag is checked at the gate or at plane-side, all spare lithium batteries must be removed from the bag and kept with the passenger in the aircraft cabin. The battery terminals must be protected from short circuit."

First off, your skin will never be in contact with any wires for electrocution to be a hazard, but even if you do touch the heating element while current is passing through it, you will not feel anything. If there is a break in a solder point that could pass a charge to you, the battery has safety features that will automatically shut it off before any harm is done.
Now, let’s just assume all the safe guards are down and you do get shocked, rest assured we use 7.4V, 5V and 3.7V volt batteries. As a comparison you can lick a 12 volt battery that is almost twice as powerful.
The heat pads are constructed of an extremely thin metal wire consisting of nickel and chromium. This metal alloy is very effective at heating up and is extremely durable especially under repeated heated and cooling cycles. We have made sure that the construction of these wires will not produce any hot spots and we even went a step further and coated all the wires as a secondary safety measure.
The nickel-Chromium wires are connected to copper wiring via a solder point, that some companies in past have had trouble with. Again, we have great quality assurance programs in place to make sure these areas do not become a problem, and we also have covered these connection points in plastic that help their durability and also stand as a secondary measure to avoid hot spots.
There is no risk of fire, and here is why:
The battery has safeguards that shut it off if anything were to happen that would cause excessive heating. Also, the battery is not capable of supplying the power needed to heat the metals to the point the fabric will catch fire.
We are all wondering this because of the recent phenomenon with the hover boards, which was a lithium ion battery like the batteries used in heated products, but also like every cell phone battery. The batteries we use are fairly standard in the industry and have been in use for some time now and there has not been any instances yet. We have also done our due diligence and have the batteries certified to all necessary requirements including a CE, UN and UL certification.
The batteries used with Anseris garments have all of these certifications and we are confident will not have any issues.
The heat pads themselves have been certified through an independent testing firm where they certify that the product is safe, but we have done plenty of testing ourselves. We have tested the heat, recorded the heat over time, measured the current and voltage running through the pads making sure it all works properly and safely. We have also done plenty of destructive testing. We have torn it apart and basically put ourselves in the worst case scenarios, touching (even licking) the bare wires, dry and wet.
Yes and No. Your heated clothing can wet, but the batteries are not waterproof.
The part of your garment that heats up (the heating element) can get wet. Although when wet, you may not be able to feel the heat as well as you can when it is dry. We recommend to hang dry your garment and continue use when it is dry.
The battery supplied with your heated garment is not waterproof. If your battery gets wet, disconnect the battery from the heated garment and let it sit out to dry. Only continue use when the battery has dried. Our warranty does not cover water damage but you can purchase replacements in our ACCESSORIES COLLECTION.

First please note, that we sell Permanent Adhesive Velcro pads and Semi-Permanent Adhesive pads. Torch 2.0 comes with 2 sets of the Permanent Adhesive Velcro pads. Additional Velcro Installation kits can be purchased on in the Accessories.
Yes the Semi-Permanent pads can be removed. There are good ways to do this and bad ways. Applying heat will loosen up the adhesive and make it possible to remove the Velcro pads from your coat. However, applying too much heat will completely melt the adhesive and will result in a sticky residue left on your coat liner. Do not use an iron to melt the adhesive. Low heat works best. We recommend placing your coat in your dryer for a few minutes to warm up the adhesive which will allow you to remove the pads without leaving any residue.
Yes, you can use the Torch Coat Heater with other 5V power banks that have a USB port. Please make sure to only use a 5V battery or power bank. And if you are looking for help finding the right battery, look at the “mah” (milli-amp hour) rating of a battery. Our battery is 6,000 mah and will last about 2.5 hours on high. If you were to use a 12,000 mah battery you could expect a run time of about 5 hour on high. The toss up is that, the higher the mah rating, the bigger the battery. So, the 12,000 mah battery I mentioned above, will most likely be twice as big as our 6,000 mah battery.
Please make sure the battery is fully charged (the battery will show 4 white lights indicating a full charge) and then connect the battery to the Torch Coat Heater with the USB. Then press and hold the power button on the coat heater (not the button on the battery) for 3 seconds or until the lights flash through the heat settings (red, blue and green). If the power button does not turn on, disconnect the battery from the coat heater and then reconnect the battery and press the power button again. Then wait 1 to 2 minutes and press your hand on the heat pad to feel the heat.
If this does not work, please contact us to cover your warranty issue.
If your coat heater isn’t getting hot enough there may be an issue with it. On high it should reach about 120-135 degrees. I’m not sure if you have any way to test the heat, but the best way to feel the heat is to simulate a jacket and cover it up, turn it on high, and wait a couple minutes, then feel the heat. Sometimes it may be hard to feel the heat if you have it sitting out in the open air, especially if it’s cold, because the heat can quickly escape- that’s why its best used in a jacket.

As a quick trouble shoot lets verify a few things:
1. Did you make sure the jacket liner was clean before adhering the pads?
2. After the pads were placed in the jacket did you allow 24 hours for the adhesive to dry?
Those are the most common reasons for the pads not adhering adequately.

Please make sure the batteries are fully charged (plug them in until the light on the insole turns green). Unplug the insole from the charger. Then press and hold the black button on the heel of the insole until the light flashes red (you may have to press and hold for up to 4 seconds). The light will stay red for only a few seconds, indicating the insoles have powered on.
Then hit the H button on the remote (turning the insoles on high heat), the light will then turn red again for a couple seconds and will turn off. Then wait a minute or two and then feel the heat on the insoles. The heat element is placed on the ball of the foot just below the toes.
To adjust the heat, hit the H (High), M (Medium) or L (Low). When you adjust the heat, the power button on the remote will flash, confirming that the temperature has been adjusted. Also, to confirm the temperature has been adjusted the lights on the heel of the insole will flash red when on high, and will flash red and green when on medium, and will flash green when on low.
Use the power button on the remote to turn the insoles on and off. If the insoles do not turn off, you can manually turn them off by using the black button on the heel of the insole. Press and hold the black power button on the heel for up to 4 seconds until the red and green lights flash twice indicating the insoles have powered off.

Please make sure the batteries are both fully charged. The light on the charger will remain red while charging and will turn green when charging is complete.
Then connect the battery to the gloves using the coax cable found in the pocket under the wrist. Then press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the light turns on. The light may flash red indicating that the glove is pre-heating. You may then quickly press the power button to cycle through the heat settings.
1. Correct Operating
Please make sure the battery is fully charged (the battery will show 4 white lights indicating a full charge) and then connect the battery to the shirt with the USB. Then press and hold the power button on the sleeve (not the button on the battery) for 3 seconds or until the lights flash through the heat settings (red, blue and green). If the power button does not turn on, disconnect the battery from the shirt and then reconnect the battery and press the power button again. Then wait 1 to 2 minutes and press your hand on the heat pad to feel the heat.
2. Make sure the battery is awake when trying to turn the shirt on.
When the battery is not in use for a period of time, it will go into sleep mode. The button on the side of the battery is used to wake the battery up. You can also disconnect the battery and reconnect it to the shirt in order to wake the battery up. This is by design to save battery life. Once the battery is awake, then you can turn on the shirt again with the power button on the sleeve.
